Bouncing back from a five-year hiatus, the Lagos Economic Summit (often tagged Ehingbeti Summit) takes on the task of expanding opportunities for economic growth and prosperity in the influential city-state.
The summit enters its 8th (eighth) edition this year: two recent developments make the 2021 edition extremely important for Lagos. You’d find this awareness in the theme picked this time around – For a greater Lagos: Setting the tone for the next decade.
Lagos is still healing from the large scale destruction of public and private properties during the 2020 End SARS protests. The global COVID-19 health situation hit home too, with a significant number of confirmed cases recorded against Lagos’ name. And this hasn’t been without social and economic consequences. Hence the need for robust conversations to discuss how to take care of the present and private-public sector collaborations to make plans for the future.

These conversations had Akodo Resort on Lagos Island, as the venue for shared contributions, by the government of the day business leaders and technocrats, to improving the quality of life for the people and prosperity for the state.
Twenty years after the first edition, the Ehingbeti summit has successfully inspired a culture of steady impact: resolutions from the economic forum is at the base of infrastructural development and improved social standards in Lagos.
